Rod & Tuppy

We thought we were not ready to adopt following our recent loss (at the time) of our dear GAP boy Mushu so we decided just to participate in the GAP Christmas Foster program.

In all honesty at the time, we had decided it was foster “only” and had prepared ourselves that the foster was going back at the end of the foster period..

There was no special request for any particular GAP grey that was going out for foster.

Out of complete random luck we were given Tuppence (Tuppy) to look after over the 3-week Christmas break.

Tuppy is a beautiful gentle natured girl who loves her walks, her shell pool (in Summer) and playing with her squeaky toys that she carries and regularly runs around the house with.

Tuppy is also a professional roacher demonstrating this fine greyhound art to us in only the first few days at our home.

In the first week we knew (& Tuppy knew) she had found her forever home as she had such an incredibly good nature and had settled in so well.

We knew there was no way Tuppy was going back!

Nearly six months only Tuppy is doing so well it is like she has been with us for a number of years.

For a quite girl (& a grey) Tuppy can be quite vocal (barking) when she gets excited or wants something (to come in or out of the house). She is a great communicator.

Very occasionally, when we ignore her she can find ways to get our attention including taking a (very) gentle nibble of our coffee table or just checking up where we are (irrespective of what room we are in!). All very cute – we love our Tuppy very much.

Bobby is a social, friendly and affectionate boy who is keen to move into his furever home. He may suit living with or without a canine pal of similar size and children aged 10years and older.

Hondo

6 years old

Handsome Hondo can't wait to find his forever home - is it with you? He's a confident and outgoing boy who can still get a bit excited when he meets new dogs, so he'd prefer a home with an experienced greyhound or sighthound owner. He would likely be ok with children aged ten or older, and should be fine with full time workers. Hondo has a heart murmur and comes with an approval for a follow up appointment for an echo, paid for by GAP.

Selma

Check out the antennas on this stunning girl! She has all ears on you and waiting to hear your call about taking her home to your family. Selma is a gorgeous brindle with a big white chest and those cute like grey dustings on her muzzle. She also has one other interesting feature and that’s a “party out the back!” – Yep! She has a Mohawk! Apart from all her looks, she is a true sweetheart. She loves going up to people and saying hello, her tail doesn’t stop wagging and she cant wait to find a home of her own where she will fit in like she has been there for years. Selma may be ok with full time workers and children 5 and over, she may also suit living with another medium or larger male companion.

Meet the handsome Conrad! He is very friendly and thinks he is a big puppy at times. He is very affectionate and if he could he would climb on to your lap for cuddles. Conrad may suit living with or without a canine companion of any size and due to his OTT love of people he would likely do better in a home with children in their teenage years.

Look at the beautiful Mika! How pretty can you get in a picture? She is just as pretty in real life we can assure you. She can be a bit playful at times, so won't suit living in an apartment. However, we are happy to report she walks on the lead and is easy to handle. She has successfully completed our onsite Behavioural Rehabilitation Program and is now ready for adoption! She may suit living with or without a canine brother of similar size and children in their teens. Mika has an auto immune disease called "Pannus", which affects the eyes. This is controlled with daily eye drops, ongoing.

Meet the sweet dazzling Dasha! Dasha loves nothing more than treatos and will do almost anything for them! She may be easily trained with her motivation for those tasty treats. She is quite an active young girl and loves doing zoomies so she wouldn't suit living in an apartment. Dasha may suit living with or without a canine brother of similar size and children aged 10 years and older. Dasha has successfully completed some further training in our onsite Behavioural Rehabilitation Program and is now ready for adoption.

Sam Iam

Sam Iam the super sweet and social boy that just wants to please you and give you all loving that he has to give. Sam is good to walk on the lead and we think he may suit households that love to get out and about. We think he would be better in a home with a yard and no elderly or frail family members (incl. other dogs). We also think they might suit living with children 10 and above or another medium or larger dog as company. Sam has some mild Osteoarthritis which does not affect his day-to-day life

Jeff Lebowski

Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski is an adorable pooch, just look at that cute face! Jeff is a young boy who has lots to learn about life and even though he will be turning 4 this year, he still acts like a big puppy! He can find other breeds of dog (other than greyhounds) a little scary, but we feel with a patient owner who will help him by gradually introducing him to other breeds in the right way, he will realise that other breeds of dog are just as good as greyhounds (well almost ;) ). Jeff would like a home where all the love can be showered on him and he does not have to share with another dog. Jeff is fond of the loud noises younger children can make so a home with teenagers aged 15 years and older, we believe he will do best in a home with a backyard for him to run and play in.
