Little Ted

3 years old

No items found.
Little Ted has the cutest ears that you have ever seen, they sometimes go like they do in the photo, other times they stand on top of his head like a party hat. Little Ted is not little; he is an average size male greyhound. Little Ted is quite the introvert and is anxious and submissive to new people and environments, but we feel with time and patience from the owner, Little Ted will blossom into his true self. Little Ted may suit living with or without calm/respectful canine companion of similar size. Little Ted would be best suited to a home with a backyard. Due to his timidity, we think Little Ted would thrive best in a home without children and in a quiet neighbourhood/home.

Fergus

2 years old

Child tolerant

Small dog tolerant

This lively, playful boy is full of energy and still very much a puppy at heart. He’s enthusiastic about life and loves to be involved in fun activities and adventures. Fergus will need a family who understands his need to burn off energy and can help guide him to play nicely. He’s also incredibly sweet and affectionate, always ready for a good pat and scratch. Due to his size and exuberance, Fergus is not suitable for a home with young children, but he may suit living with older teens who can handle his enthusiasm. He could also enjoy having another dog companion, provided they’re not old or frail. A backyard is a must for this spirited young man—he’ll thrive with space to run and play! This lovely dog is not suitable to live with a cat.

Oran (bonded with Gus)

3 years old

Dog tolerant

Small dog tolerant

Oran (pink collar) is a super sweet but shy girl who has come along way since entering GAP. She has been out to foster care a couple of times so has some experience living in a home. She has bonded to Gus who is her emotional support friend, so they will be both looking for a home together. Oran is toilet trained, walks perfectly on the lead, and is super quiet. She knows how to walk up and down stairs well and travels nicely in the car. She does get worried in new situations and will be looking for a quiet home with no children as she finds them a bit scary! During her foster period, Oran has developed a liking for watching TV, so she hopes her forever home will have a double seater couch that she and her boyfriend Gus can sleep on and live her life in luxury. She may be happy to live with full time workers. Are you ready to fill that massive Gus and Oran sized hole in your heart? Oran is not cat tolerant.

How pretty is this little girl! Izzy is a sweet and personable girl that can be a little unsure and shy in new environments. She may take sometime coming out of her shell in her new home but once she is apart of the family we think she will thrive. A home with children 10 and over and respectful of boundaries may be ok and another male dog of any size. A place with an outdoor area for her to relax in will be ideal for her as she comes out of her shell. This lovely dog is not suitable for a home with cats.

She may not be leading Santa’s sleigh like Rudolf but this quiet achiever is still just as important! She is a shy girl that we think will come out of her shell in a home that understands she just needs time to learn how to be a pet and patience to go at her pace. She may also benefit from a male friend that is medium or larger to help her transition into pet life. This lovely dog is not suitable for a home with cats.

Owen

Owen is a big cuddly boy that loves attention and loves a good lean on you to make sure that you give him more pats. Owen can be a bit of a boof head and the fun-loving one in the kennels and we think he will make a lovely pet. He has recently completed his training in GAP's behaviour program and is ready for his forever home. Owen may suit living with another medium or larger dog as a companion, as long as they are respectful of his space when he is playing with his toys as Owen thinks toys are the BEST and doesn't like to share them. Owen has injured his hock in past, and we believe he may get arthritis in this joint as he ages. This doesn't bother him. This lovely dog is not suitable for a home with cats.
