Keziah & Buzz

I asked GAP if I may have a greyhound at my house, they invited me to come and look at Buzz and I brought him home.

After a few days I feel like to mother to Buzz and Buzz loves me. I did the paperwork with GAP and now he is all mine. I have been to the dog registration office (Ballarat City Council) to officially register him and we put his middle name, Lightyear, in as well. We got him a tag with a number on it.

He is so cheeky. He thinks he will go up to the kitchen bench and he will take our tea when he has already had his tea. And in the mornings as well. When we have visitors come around and there is food on the table, he thinks it is his food, But we say “No, stay” “No way, Buzz” and he listens to that.

He has a close feeling of love with me. It is like he is my son and I am his mother. He loves to put his head on my shoulder and knees.

He is very good walking with me and with my mum and with Maureen. Sometimes we all walk together. He makes friends when we walk around my hometown Ballarat. When we get home from our walk he loves to sleep lots. He is loving Ballarat and he fits in really well. He likes my dad. Sometimes my dad treats dogs.

Buzz has made looks of friends with my support workers, I have Down Syndrome. Some of the support workers know a lot about greyhounds.

Buzz met my brother, Tim and his wife, Emma, from Sydney. They love him. My other brother and sister who live in Sydney are really excited about meeting Buzz when they come home with their families.

My aunty Margaret from Bacchus Marsh loves Buzz too. One day he might have a holiday with her.

Larry is one of a kind, not only is he a handsome, sleek and full of life, he has one very 'small' difference that makes him stand out! He has almost no tail! Poor Larry wagged and wagged till he couldn't wag it anymore (happy tail is a real thing!). Larry is still very much a puppy and although has come such a long way at GAP with extra training, he will benefit from a family willing to continue his manners training in the real world.
