The greys are (still) going viral…!

The appeal of the greyhound as a pet has been evident for years now, and last weekend’s National Greyhound Adoption Day once again demonstrated they’re in demand.
Victoria’s Greyhound Adoption Program attracted another huge crowd to The Meadows track, where 31 beauties found their new besties!
For the month – when adoption fees were waived, and free food was provided – around 120 Victorian homes added a grey to their family unit.
That’s 120 lounging, loyal longdogs who have found their way into hearts and minds, and already we have the photos to prove it.
GAP’s Facebook page (GreyhoundAdoptionProgramVIC) is full of wonderful stories and photos, all of them talking about how well the new additions are fitting in.
It’s just what greyhounds do!
National Adoption Month may be close to over, but that doesn’t mean the adoptions have; there are still greys looking for a spot on your floor… have a look at the website here to see who is available now.
Meet our dogs ready for adoption
All greyhounds adopted from GAP are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and health checked.

Puddles

Sniper ARP
Sniper is very handsome with kind eyes. He doesn’t understand how big he is sometimes and can be strong on lead. He is excitable and enthusiastic when you first meet him then calms down and is very sweet and friendly. Sniper may suit living with or without a robust canine friend that’s medium size or larger and children in their teenage years. He will likely do best in a home with a backyard so he can run and play in.
This dog is part of our Assisted Rehoming Program (ARP). We have behavioural and health assessed this lovely dog, and they will remain with their racing owners until they find an adoptive home, at which point they are brought back into GAP. This means that should you be interested in adopting this dog, we are bringing the dog into GAP on the understanding that you will be adopting this particular dog, and not other dogs currently in our care.

Stella
Meet the gorgeous Stella! Stella came into GAP with her sister Lumens and are both looking for their forever homes. Stella is not only gorgeous on the outside, but she is just as beautiful on the inside too! Her favourite thing are treats but her close favourite thing is her people, she shows her love for people by putting her paws up on your chest for a cuddle. Stunning Stella is looking for a home with or without a canine pal of similar size and children aged 10 years and older. Due to her active nature, she wouldn't be suitable to live in an apartment. Stella was noted to have inflammation of the
sclera in her right eye. Her tear production in this eye was significantly reduced. She was started on medication to improve tear production. The tear production was recently measured as being normal.

If your looking for a calm, affectionate boy, Thomas could be the PAWfect addition to your family.
