Xavier, Jacqueline & Cardi

Cardi came into our lives in January 2024. We arrived at GAP having recently lost our rescue dog Kimchi a month earlier.

Cardi was the first greyhound we met and we didn’t look back. The first few days at home she spent curled up in a bed, adjusting to her surroundings. She didn’t even go to the toilet for a couple of days.

At some point she warmed up and in less than a week she was playfully roaching on her back, claiming the sofa for herself and gaining confidence. If there’s something that continues to impress us it’s her adaptability and openness.

Since those early steps we’ve gone on to have lots of adventures from road trips to go hiking in the Blue Mountains to snow fights in the Alpine mountains in Victoria. We love her so much!

You can find her on Instagram: @Cardi_hound

Leo

2 years old

Leo is a gentle and personable greyhound who wins people over with his quiet charm. Fairly small for a male greyhound, he is a polite companion who walks well on lead and enjoys being out and about with his people. Leo has a soft and submissive nature and is happy to take life at his own pace. While he enjoys company, he is not demanding of attention and is content to relax nearby rather than constantly seek pats and affection. Leo has a previous hock fracture which has some osteoarthritis. This doesn't let him worry him though! With his easy-going personality, Leo may suit living with or without a medium to large canine companion and could be a good match for a home with children aged 10 years and older. Due to his calm and quiet nature, he may also adapt well to apartment living, provided his exercise and companionship needs are met.
