GAP Drag-ed to Brunch

Australian Entertainment Co and The Greyhound Adoption Program partnered up to deliver a Mardi Gras celebration like no other on Saturday the 6th of March, with a crowd of over 100 people attending Mardi Gras Drag Brunch in St Kilda.

With performances by some of Melbourne’s best Drag queens Donna Dutchme, Freida Commitment and Aysha Buffet, the morning was little short of a fabulous explosion of all things Mardi Gras, and Greyhounds.

Along with the queen’s performances throughout the event, there was another star of the show; GAP greyhound Sloth. Sloth was in attendance to spread the word amongst the LGBTIQA+ community that Greyhounds are the most perfect pet you could ever have, and my word did he deliver. Everyone attending the brunch was delighted by the queens on show but mesmerised by Sloth and his friendly demeanour.

Ben and Rose from GAP were onsite to keep the star of the show Sloth company and provide information about the adoption and fostering processes.

Ben stated “Saturday was a fantastic outing for GAP. The LGBTIQA+ community in Melbourne and Victoria are supporters of ours and we want to make sure we are sharing the love back, as well as showing everyone that our greyhounds are fantastic pets.”

Jareth Richardson, Director of the Australian Entertainment Co, who organised the ‘dragged to brunch’ event said it was great to have the team from GAP on-site “It was fantastic to have the GAP guys down at the brunch. Everyone got to have pats, and I even wanted to take Sloth home with me”
