That’s right — GAP is bringing the joy of greyhound adoption to FOUR locations across Victoria at once! Whether you’re in the west, east, north or down Gippsland way, there’s a greyhound near you waiting to meet their forever family. 🐾

It’s our first ever Super Sunday Adoption Bonanza, and it’s going to be a tail-wagging good time filled with meet-and-greets, cuddles, and maybe even your new best mate. 🐶💕

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the fee to adopt a greyhound?

Just $100 will buy you 8 to 10 years of unlimited love! All our greyhounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed etc. They also come with a lead, collar and a coat.

Can I bring my own dog to the event?

No, sorry! We are unable to accommodate meet and greets with other dogs at this event. You can, however, undertake these at our Tullamarine kennels any day of the week other than a Sunday.

I have a cat – will there be a dog suitable for me?

Due to the high demand for cat tolerant dogs, we won’t have any available at this event.

I’m not ready to adopt yet, can I still come?

Absolutely! We offer unlimited pats to anyone that attends. What’s not to love about that?

This is Paisley, yes, she may be 6 and a half years old but that doesn't stop this pretty girl from acting like a puppy! As soon as you meet her you are guaranteed to fall completely in love with her, she has a contagious happy demeanour that you can't help to smile back at her. She loves nothing more than hanging with her people and getting all the attention. She is quite an active girl and will likely require a home that has a back yard that she can run and play in. She will also likely need mental stimulation while her people aren't around. She may be OK to live with a dog tolerant cat.

Pogo is still learning his manners and can be a bit boisterous, so he’ll thrive with confident handlers who can continue his training and help him become his best self. Pogo is best suited to a household with teens 15+ or adults, and he’ll need a secure backyard where he can stretch out and play. He can live as an only dog or with a robust medium to large canine companion, but he’s not suitable for homes with cats, apartments, or elderly residents. With the right environment and guidance, Pogo will reward you with loyalty, laughs, and plenty of greyhound love. Pogo has had irritable bowel syndrome while in our care at GAP. We have had much improvement using a specialty diet, with "inside out" powder on his food. This should be continued into his new home.

He may suit living with or without a canine pal of similar size and children aged 10 years and older. Hugo has had a previous hock injury, and whilst in out care, we removed a screw out of this leg.

Terrasaur has recently completed some extra behaviour training and is ready to get himself into his forever home. We think he may suit homes with children 5 and over and also another canine that is medium or larger. He may even do ok in an apartment type setting.

Vegas may suit living with medium or large dogs and may be ok being in a household with kids 10+. If you are looking for an outgoing, friendly and eager to please girl. Vegas is the greyhound for you!

This dog is part of our Assisted Rehoming Program (ARP). We have behavioural and health assessed this lovely dog, and they will remain with their racing owners until they find an adoptive home, at which point they are brought back into GAP. This means that should you be interested in adopting this dog, we are bringing the dog into GAP on the understanding that you will be adopting this particular dog, and not other dogs currently in our care.
