That’s right — GAP is bringing the joy of greyhound adoption to FOUR locations across Victoria at once! Whether you’re in the west, east, north or down Gippsland way, there’s a greyhound near you waiting to meet their forever family. 🐾

It’s our first ever Super Sunday Adoption Bonanza, and it’s going to be a tail-wagging good time filled with meet-and-greets, cuddles, and maybe even your new best mate. 🐶💕

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the fee to adopt a greyhound?

Just $100 will buy you 8 to 10 years of unlimited love! All our greyhounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed etc. They also come with a lead, collar and a coat.

Can I bring my own dog to the event?

No, sorry! We are unable to accommodate meet and greets with other dogs at this event. You can, however, undertake these at our Tullamarine kennels any day of the week other than a Sunday.

I have a cat – will there be a dog suitable for me?

Due to the high demand for cat tolerant dogs, we won’t have any available at this event.

I’m not ready to adopt yet, can I still come?

Absolutely! We offer unlimited pats to anyone that attends. What’s not to love about that?

Puddles

Puddles is not only gorgeous but after his initial enthusiasm and excitement, he settles down and is quite a chilled dog. He is a friendly boy to all he meets. Puddles loves travelling in the car and is up for many road trips with his family. Puddles may suit living with or without a canine pal of medium/large in size and children aged 10 years and older. Sorry no apartments for Puddles.

Stella

Meet the gorgeous Stella! Stella came into GAP with her sister Lumens and are both looking for their forever homes. Stella is not only gorgeous on the outside, but she is just as beautiful on the inside too! Her favourite thing are treats but her close favourite thing is her people, she shows her love for people by putting her paws up on your chest for a cuddle. Stunning Stella is looking for a home with or without a canine pal of similar size and children aged 10 years and older. Due to her active nature, she wouldn't be suitable to live in an apartment. Stella was noted to have inflammation of the sclera in her right eye. Her tear production in this eye was significantly reduced. She was started on medication to improve tear production. The tear production was recently measured as being normal

Marley ARP

Marley is super sweet, friendly, and outgoing, and has all the love to give. Marley may be happiest in a home with children 10 years and over, and might suit living with full time workers. Marley has a low-grade heart murmur, which doesn't require medicating, or affect her day-to-day life.

Prosper

5 years old

Meet the introverted and quiet boy, Prosper. Prosper is quite the lazy hound, after a short stroll around the block he is happy to sleep the day away. He has got a lovely shiny coat that looks glossy in the sun, just like you can see in his picture. He may be best in a home with children aged 10 years and older and may suit living with or without a canine pal of any size. He would do best in a home with a yard of any size, and we are happy to report that he can already walk up and down stairs, which some greyhound cannot.

Pickle

Pickle's race name was "Golden Sunrise" but he hopes he can share his golden sunset years with you. He is a lovely, quiet, gentle old man who is perfect on lead and easy to manage. He wants to please everyone he meets and will look up at you and straight into your soul with his big brown eyes. Pickle may be happy to live in a home with children aged 5 years + as long as they are gentle with this old boy. He may suit living with or without another medium or large canine companion and full time workers. If you are looking for the perfect, experienced, and quiet boy, don't overlook Pickle! Pickle has successfully completed some further training in our onsite Behavioural Rehabilitation Program and is now ready for adoption!

Ballerina suits adult-only homes with no elderly people or apartments, please! She'd love to be the only dog or live with a medium to large dog, but no small dogs or cats, thanks! Between his white gloves and fancy dance (zoomie) moves, this guy definitely is in the running as the PRINCE of pop! Prince is a bundle of joy and love, he has a heart of gold with a goofy personality to match it. Prince loves few things more than a playtime that ends in a cuddle sesh. This boy may enjoy having a medium or large canine backup dancer, or to be the star of the show as a solo act in his forever home. Prince has recently undertaken some extra lessons to learn how to dance nicely with other dogs and is ready to hit the stage! Due to his energetic act Prince needs a home with an active lifestyle and backyard so he can show off all his favourite moves. A backyard to stretch his legs and a robust dog companion (medium to large) may be best suited if he's not the only dog. He is outgoing without being overwhelming, he is affectionate and friendly.  Thomas may be suitable to live with children aged 10+, and he may be suitable to live with small, medium or large dogs. If your looking for a calm, affectionate boy, Thomas could be the PAWfect addition to your family.

This dog is part of our Assisted Rehoming Program (ARP). We have behavioural and health assessed this lovely dog, and they will remain with their racing owners until they find an adoptive home, at which point they are brought back into GAP. This means that should you be interested in adopting this dog, we are bringing the dog into GAP on the understanding that you will be adopting this particular dog, and not other dogs currently in our care.

Opal entered GAP with a history of previous carpal injury or has been assessed as having a prior injury on examination. He bears weight on this limb but without restriction or discomfort on full movement of the wrist.
