The two-day Adoption Event at Seymour has come to an end with 58 greyhounds finding new homes.
It may have been cold, but that didn’t stop more than 150 people braving the cold weather in hope of finding their new four-legged companion.
Among the many families was Christine and her two daughters Finlay and Zoe who were lucky enough to welcome two greyhounds into their home; Marshall and Juliet (pictured).
Christine and her family recently lost their first greyhound Shannon, who they found was a lovely companion – so much so, they decided to adopt two greyhounds.
Of the 81 people who made the journey to Seymour on Saturday, only one person decided to make an eight-hour return journey from Warrnambool. Jeremy, broke up the journey to Seymour by staying in Melbourne on Friday night to ensure he would make it to Seymour for the 10am start. It didn’t take long to find his match, taking home Hershey not only as a travel companion but his new pet.
Adoption Days aren’t the only way you can adopt a greyhound from GAP- the Seymour kennels are open Monday – Fridays from 8.30am to 4pm and Saturday’s by appointment. GAP also have a Melbourne based facility in Baxter which is open on Saturday’s and Sundays by appointment only.
