VIDEO: Every Greyhound Has a Story – Westerfolds Park

There is no better advertisement for greyhounds as pets than interaction with the dogs themselves, and that’s what makes regular greyhound walks such as the one at Westerfolds Park in Melbourne’s east so worthwhile.

A passionate group of people with pet greyhounds meet once a month at Westerfolds Park in Templestowe – partly to socialise – but also to provide a platform for the general public to get up close and personal with the breed.

“A lot of people don’t get the opportunity to meet greyhounds,” said Rowville’s Kerry Miglietti, who is a regular on the Westerfold Park walks.

“We like to encourage the general public to come along and join us, particularly people who are interested in adopting a greyhound. They can come and ‘test drive’ a greyhound, so to speak.”

“They can touch the dogs, pat the dogs, even walk one of the dogs and see how good they are on lead, and how lovely and gentle they are.”

The group meets on the second Sunday of every month.
