The 70 greyhounds up for adoption aren’t the only special guests at Sunday’s Adoption Day at The Meadows.
Four staff members from South Australia’s Greyhound Adoption Program are making the trip over in support of Melbourne’s biggest ever Adoption Day.
“We are very excited to come along and be a part of a day where such a large amount of greyhounds are being adopted out. It will be great to see how Victoria put together events like this,” supervisor of GAP South Australia Angela Web explains.
“We are constantly looking at ways we can improve on our adoptions in SA, maybe Victoria has something they can add – it’s a learning experience for us all.”
Along with SA’s staff, around 80 staff and volunteers from across Victoria are joining forces to ensure the Adoption Day at The Meadows is a successful one.
With registrations for the day already soaring above the 300, the point it’s clear that the interest in greyhounds as pets is at an all time high in Victoria.
Adoption Day goers could be forgiven for falling in love with the three irresistible greyhound puppies (pictured above) who are waiting to find their forever homes on Sunday.
