The ongoing uncertainty surrounding canine gastroenteritis and human coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting our whole community, and the Greyhound Adoption Program must also respond to the recommendations of health officials and government advice.
To that end, GAP is applying vigorous restrictions to ensure the best possible welfare outcomes for our greyhounds, staff, volunteers and the general public.
At this stage, effective immediately, GAP Seymour will not be accessible to volunteers or visitors until further notice.
The greyhounds at Seymour will still receive all the attention and care they need during this period and it is possible a limited number of adoptions will proceed at a different venue, based on the health of the dog and restrictions on the gathering of people. These possible adoptions will be arranged on a case-by-case, individual, basis.
If you have registered your interest in adopting a greyhound, please keep abreast of the evolving situation through the GAP website. They may be opportunities to adopt, which will be communicated via this site and our GAP Facebook page.
GAP apologises for this interruption, but we can assure you our greyhounds will be cared for and attended to as usual. Our priority is, and always will be, the welfare of our greyhounds and, in this rapidly evolving environment, our staff and volunteers.
We wish good health to all.
