National Greyhound Adoption Month off to a flyer!

National Greyhound Adoption Month launched like a 16-speed rocket on Saturday in Victoria, when GAP’s ‘greylight savings’ event saw 16 long-dogs head off home with their new families.

The Tullamarine facility was a hive of activity and anticipation, but it was Esther, Deeks, Mexico, Jarvis, Antheia, Rabbit, Braska, Sunday, Cole, Freja, Yogi, Elvis, Rex, Mister and Kerrie (whew!) that found new friends and a life of happy retirement.

The National Adoption Month is a time for all of Australia’s adoption agencies to amount their most ambitious activities and find new homes for former racing greyhounds. There’ll be an activity each weekend, with the next on Saturday April 13, again at Tullamarine, and the culmination on Sunday April 28 with the National Adoption Day at The Meadows greyhound track.

For each of these events, all fees are waived, and every greyhound will come with a free bag of top-quality dog food (our noodles deserve nothing less!)
