Winter Wamers Foster Carer

Looking for a greyhound friend to keep you warm over the winter? Our Winter Warmers foster campaign is an opportunity for kind-hearted people to take an adopt ready hound into their home for a winter break while they await their forever-homes.

Looking for a furry friend to keep you cozy this winter? Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) is on the lookout for kind-hearted individuals to open their homes and hearts to a greyhound—just for three weeks!

What's Provided?

As a Winter Warmers foster carer, you'll provide a warm place for a hound to rest while they wait for their forever home. We’ll supply everything your greyhound needs during their stay, including: A GAP lead, martingale collar, warm coats, a muzzle (wire or plastic), kibble, and ongoing support from our foster, behaviour, and veterinary teams

All you need to provide? A comfy bed, a food and water bowl, and lots of love.

Greyhounds for Every Kind of Home

We have a variety of greyhounds ready for foster who are suited to homes with:

• Another dog for company

• A backyard

• No other dogs

• No kids

• Young kids

• Older kids

Please note: For this campaign, we do not have greyhounds available who are cat-friendly, apartment-suitable, or ideal for elderly carers.

Fall in Love? Adoption Fees Are Waived!

If you decide you can’t part with your foster hound—great news! All greyhounds in our Winter Warmers campaign are available for adoption, and during this special winter promotion, the adoption fee is completely waived for any foster dogs adopted.

Ready to Foster?

Submit your interest via our Winter Warmers foster page and select your preferred online induction session. Every carer will be guided through a virtual induction to help you feel confident and prepared. Available online inductions:

1:30pm, Wednesday 9th July 2025

6pm, Thursday 10th July 2025

Once you’re onboarded, we’ll gather a few more details and match you with the perfect hound 💖
