The Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) is committed to finding the right home for all our greyhounds. However, our help doesn’t stop when you take your greyhound home from GAP. GAP is always available to help answer any questions, queries or concerns you may have.
When you adopt your greyhound through GAP you will receive an adoption pack full of information and guides to care for your new family member.
In addition to this pack GAP is committed to ensuring the following:
Three post adoption follow up calls
We know that bringing a dog home can be daunting for both the greyhound and owner. In order to help with this transition period, one of our staff will be checking in at around the 3 day, 3 week and 3 month mark to see how both you are your greyhound are settling in.
Behavioural advice
If you have any questions about your greyhound’s behaviour, please give us a call. We are here to help and if needed can provide one-on-one sessions when required.
Assistance via Facebook and email
Sometimes we can be a bit busy in the office and can’t answer the phone, but please don’t let that get in your way in trying to reach us. We are always monitoring our Facebook page and emails so please send us through a message and we will get back to you.
Free behavioural sessions at GAP
We know how important behavioural training is for any breed of dog. If you think you need some extra training for your greyhound we offer free sessions for all greyhounds at GAP once a month. Keep an eye out on the GAP Facebook page and website for the next session.
