Greyhound lovers had a ball at today’s free Community Day at The Meadows, an event put on by Greyhound Racing Victoria to thank people for bringing pet greyhounds into their lives.
An adoption component was also incorporated into the day, with 16 greyhounds finding loving new homes.
“A total of 432 people came along today and they collectively brought 171 retired greyhounds with them,” said event organiser, GRV’s Lauren Marie.
Among the festivities were free dental checks, track tours, kids activities, dog-related stalls and complimentary catering including a barbeque and various food trucks.
GRV holds two Community Days every year.
