Ab-solutely smitten

By Andrew Copley

India Armstrong couldn’t be happier with new family member Abner following Sunday’s Adoption Day at The Meadows.

After making the long trek from Maryborough to Melbourne with partner Jack and son Cal on Sunday, India said Abner has fitted into his new surroundings like a duck to water.

“We went to the Adoption Day thinking Abner was beautiful, but due to him being so pretty and having so much online interest, he wasn’t on our ‘to meet’ list originally,” India said.

“We wanted a dog that would fit our family and lifestyle, rather than based off looks. We were happy with any age, colour and to work through any quirks – we just wanted a nice fit. And Abner so far is perfect.

“He is loving the couch and freedom to explore inside and out as he pleases. He has eaten well and is wonderful at going out for toileting.”

The family now has three pet dogs – two of which are greyhounds – with Abner welcomed lovingly by her new canine siblings Rosie and Elizabeth.

“We are all smitten,” India said.

“We’re so thrilled to have Abner as a part of our family and couldn’t be happier with the match!”

GAP’s next Adoption Day will be held at Ballarat on Saturday 21 October (2.00pm to 3.00pm). Click here to register.

Meanwhile GAP Tullamarine – located at 444 Melrose Drive – is open from 10.00am to 3.00pm every day except Sundays with no appointment necessary.
