New Single Day Record for Greyhound Adoption

A single day record 35 greyhounds were adopted at Sunday’s ‘Adoption Day’ run by the Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP).

The record day – which occurred at the GAP’s centre of operations in Seymour – signified the increasing popularity of retired racing greyhounds as pets with 847 adoptions processed last financial year.

“More and more people are beginning to realise how affectionate greyhounds are and the fact that they are suitable to apartment living.”

“We will be hosting a lot more ‘Adoption Days’ going forward but people can also call to make an appointment to meet our greyhounds with a view to adoption most days of the week,” Greyhound Adoption Program Manager, Larissa Darragh said.

The Greyhound Adoption Program’s previous single day record was 24.
