Group one winning trainer says greyhounds ‘suit every lifestyle’

During a recent 60 second interview on Melbourne radio station SEN, greyhound trainer Ashlee Terry (pictured) was interviewed by host Mark Allen about her relationship with the lovable greyhound breed.

Ashlee told listeners that she definitely has a soft spot for greyhounds.

“They have beautiful natures and are easy to place in homes. Greyhounds aren’t just perfect for racing, these gentle animals are just as happy as pets and make great companions. And they suit every lifestyle,” the Cranbourne trainer said.

While they are magnificent athletes that can run up to 70 kilometres per hour, greyhounds only require minimal exercise (a 20 minute walk) and enjoy sleeping most of the day.

Ashlee is a well experienced young trainer and has also recently won her first group 1 race – the Sapphire Crown at Sandown Park with a greyhound called Maja Mahi Mahi.

After her dogs finish racing Ashlee finds homes for them through the greyhound adoption program.

Anyone looking to adopt or even if you are just interested in meeting some greyhounds, there’ll be over 80 greyhounds looking for new homes at our Adoption Day at The Meadows this Sunday.
