For many years, visitors to the Seymour head office of Victoria’s Greyhound Adoption Program were greeted by a very handsome fawn greyhound called Dave who saw himself as very much in charge of the program.
GAP’s Golden Oldies Find a Home
You may have heard of our “Golden Oldies”, Zeta (14) and Tommy (11), who were struggling to find a forever home after being returned to GAP in October. Since they have lived together for a long time, the pair were inseparable, so Rose Streatfield, GAP’s Volunteer and Foster Coordinator, found it in her heart to foster them while they waited for a home.

Why greyhounds need to stay on a lead in public
Effective 1 January 2019, pet greyhounds are no longer required to wear a muzzle in public. This is great news for greyhounds, but please don’t forget that greyhounds are still legally required to be on a lead in public.
Finding Fred
Sally Waddell couldn’t live without a dog in her life. When her last dog passed away of old age in December, Sally and her partner agreed that they needed to find a new canine companion soon.
Summer foster friends
This festive period, the Chandler household warmly welcomed foster greyhound number six – Freddie. Meanwhile, the Phillips household fostered their second greyhound, Bill, for four weeks. The Chandler and Phillips households are good friends, so Bill and Freddie were often seen out and about together in Essendon – on walks and at the local “pet wash.”
Records fall at GAP three-day adoption event
A new record for the number of greyhounds adopted at a single event has fallen with 111 greyhounds finding new homes at the Greyhound Adoption Program’s three-day adoption event at Seymour (January 18-20).
Day one of three-day adoption event at GAP Seymour a huge success
The Greyhound Adoption Program’s three-day adoption event began with a bang at Seymour today with 70 of the 115 greyhounds up for adoption going home with their new families.
