You'll know that I brought Tom home with me. I really wasn't quite sure what I was going to do
until I got there. Tom needed some help, so that was it. It was difficult to leave Bobby as he
bounced up and down in the pen, thinking I was going to get him. But now it was Tom's turn.
Tom is a bit of a worry wort, in a different way to Bobby. It's like he's landed from Mars!
He's had one adventure already, managing to get himself on the wrong side of a fence, and the
quickest way to get to me was through/over it!!! Crikey, I don't run very fast in gumboots through
rough ground and long grass. Fortunately he managed to get himself free as his back end was tangled
in ringlock and barbed wire. No major damage done, really just scrapes of hair off in a few spots
on his face and a couple on a back leg. Phew!!
He is a scavenger, and was absolutely ravenous. He will do anything to get to food, including
feet up on benches, so I'm being extra careful and not leaving even a crumb out that will reward
that behaviour. Hopefully that will settle as he gains weight and has a constantly full tummy. No
problems with my three, both girls ticking him off when he sniffed at them while in the basket and
on the couch and Nero grumped at him when he was laying in front of the fire. He gave them all the
respect they asked for! He's excellent on lead.
Will take him into town Tuesday and weigh him. He travels well, much better than Bobby. Will
you let me know how Bobby is going if you hear?
