Kate Stevenson signs on as GAP Ambassador

Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) and its popular Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) are pleased to announce that media personality Kate Stevenson has signed on as the new GAP ambassador.

Executive producer of ‘3AW Breakfast with Ross and John’ and co-host of the station’s ‘A Moveable Feast’ program, Kate is excited and honoured to be part of the GAP team to help spread the word about why greyhounds make great pets.

“My grandfather was a greyhound trainer, so I grew up with greyhounds and spent a lot of time at the track,” Kate said.

“I loved helping feed them and I was very lucky to learn from a young age what a beautiful and docile breed they are.

“Once I was older and settled into a house, I started fostering greyhounds with GAP. Fostering is such a rewarding thing to do. I am now excited to be able to share my experiences and help spread the word about these beautiful dogs.”

GRV CEO Alan Clayton said that he was thrilled that Stevenson had come on board after being so supportive of the program for many years.

“Kate genuinely loves greyhounds and we are excited for her to bring her passion and knowledge of the breed to this role,” Mr Clayton said.

“GRV is continually spreading the word about why greyhounds make wonderful pets and it is great to have Kate on board to help get that message out.”

The GAP has gone from strength to strength since it first started 23 years ago with an increasing number of Victorians wanting to have a greyhound as a family pet.
