GAP hosts Christmas party to thank volunteers

On Sunday, December 9, the Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) hosted a Christmas Party to thank all the GAP volunteers who have made the program a success over the past year.

GAP volunteers, their families and greyhounds were invited to the Royal Botanical Gardens for a festive holiday picnic with live-music, delicious BBQ and the chance to say hi to Santa.

GAP has successfully rehomed thousands of dogs thanks to our amazing volunteers who dedicate a significant amount of time and effort to help retired greyhounds find forever homes.

GAP volunteers help retired greyhounds by providing community engagement and support at GAP events and adoption days; assisting greyhounds with the transition to pet-life during the program and fostering greyhounds that require more time to adjust to life after racing; providing greyhound enrichment at GAP’s kennels in Seymour and Baxter; serving at GAP café; and much more.

The party was a great opportunity for GAP to personally thank its community of volunteers for all their hard work, and for volunteers and their dogs to get to know each other a little better.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to help retired greyhounds find homes and GAP is always looking for new volunteers. Click here if you are interested in more information about volunteering for GAP.
