13 greyhounds find homes at the first Shepparton Adoption Day

Shepparton’s first greyhound Adoption Day was a success with 13 greyhounds finding fur-ever homes on Sunday, December 2, 2018.

There was a good turnout with more than 70 people attending the event to either adopt a greyhound or learn more about this beautiful breed.

This included a young family from Shepparton who welcomed the affectionate, Midget, into their home in time for the holidays.

However, not all the greyhounds available on the weekend found new homes; but don’t worry, you can still adopt these wonderful dogs by contacting GAP.

Adoption Days are not the only times you can adopt greyhounds; you can also visit the GAP headquarters in Seymour open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm or by appointment on Saturday, or the Melbourne based location in Baxter which is open Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.

Greyhounds make fantastic pets, and this is evident by the hundreds of greyhounds who have been adopted through the GAP this year.

While this was the final greyhound Adoption Day for 2018, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet and adopt greyhounds in the New Year, beginning with the three-day adoption event at the Seymour location from January 18-20, 2019.
