Another successful stint at the show

The Greyhound Adoption Program had another highly successful stint at the Royal Melbourne Show with crowds flocking to its stand.

A host of volunteers and greyhounds were on site eager to promote greyhound adoption with people of all ages and backgrounds keen to learn more about greyhounds as pets.

Thousands of people visited the stand, which drew inspiration from the recently-opened GAP café with an illustrated café style backdrop.

The ‘Take Our Lead’ campaign was launched on Monday 24 September with Victorian ministers Jaala Pulford, Minister for Agriculture and Martin Pakula, Minister for Racing both in attendance.

Both ministers strongly advocated the Take Our Lead campaign which was launched to emphasise that even though from January 1 next year, non-racing greyhounds can go in public without a muzzle, they still must be on a lead at all times.

GAP ambassador Bernie Vince also made an appearance, much to the delight of footy fans.

The Royal Melbourne show is the biggest GAP activation of the year and something that we wouldn’t be able to do without the support of our amazing GAP Volunteers and staff.
