Greyhounds get amongst it as Melbourne Aces Brisbane

Almost a dozen pet greyhounds were among the many canines in the crowd at Melbourne Ballpark on Sunday as the Jet Courier Melbourne Aces baseball team secured a series win over reigning premiers the Brisbane Bandits.

The Aces hosted its annual Bark in the Park event on the day – sponsored by the Greyhound Adoption Program – at which fans are invited to bring along their pet dogs.

Sunday’s final scoreline read 5-1 in favour of the Aces, wrapping up the weekend-long series three games to one in favour of the home team, which cemented the team’s place atop the Australian Baseball League ladder.

As part of GAP’s sponsorship, people with greyhounds gained free tickets to the game, and it proved yet another great opportunity to showcase the greyhound breed to the wider public.[
